2009 SPELLBOUND chardonnay, CALIFORNIA
Tasting Notes
The 2009 Spellbound Chardonnay features bright and lush tropical fruit flavors such as pineapple, banana, guava, and kiwi. These bright favors are balanced with notes of vanilla and classic crème brulee. Enjoy this wine on its own or with a variety of cuisine from the Pacific Rim to the fiery Southwest.
Winemaker's Notes
"Aging and fermentation take place in small oak barrels, which are the key signature to the wine. The oak works to call forth the density and complex oak characteristics of fresh vanilla bean and luscious crème brulee. To maintain the crisp fresh fruit acidity within the wine, we ferment nearly ten percent of the wine in stainless steel. Everything about making Chardonnay is lively—the vibrant color, richness of flavors, and perfect balance. I guarantee this is a wine that will leave you Spellbound."
